Scientifically Proven Ways to Remember Everything You Read
Here are some scientifically proven methods remember everything you read and make your way to being an outstanding student.

1. SKIM THE MATERIAL
Before you read a book, take time to note key things like headings, tables, pictures (if any), charts, keywords, etc. This enables you pay attention to these important points when reading the material in general. Skimming makes it easier for you to remember important details.
2. PEN DOWN IMPORTANT POINTS
Always read with a pen in hand. Write down those important points and keywords you came across while skimming. If the information is of no value to you, ignore it so as not to waste time. If diagrams and flowcharts will help you, then draw them because the brain captures pictorial information more than text.

3. READING OUT LOUD
This system works very well for loud readers. When you speak and hear yourself, you have a better chance of remembering the material better than normal. The brain can easily recall the way and manner you pronounced those words when reading out loud. This cannot be done during silent reading.
4. LINK THE MATERIAL WITH REAL LIFE SCENARIOS
One big secret to remember everything you read is to link what you have read to what you already know. Relate names and dates in what you have read to names and dates of your friends or family. Once you’re able to successfully do this, you increase your ability to remember.
5. ASK YOURSELF QUESTIONS
Ask yourself from time to time logical questions relating to what you are reading. Possible exam questions and also indirect questions.
By questioning yourself, you broaden your knowledge on the material you are reading. Once you are able to understand it more, you can remember it better. It works hand in hand.
6. DISCUSS WITH OTHERS
Discussing with a classmate helps you know what information you can remember. Exchanging information helps your brain create new memories and retain pre-existing ones too.
BONUS: Making out rhymes and songs when reading also helps your ability to remember. I have tried this method when trying to memorize long definitions. I turned them into songs and sang my way to success. Lol Very funny But very effective.
