·KNOW YOUR STAND

This is the first guide to reviving a dying CGPA. You must honestly identify where you stand at the moment so as to know how to put yourself together and plan for the mountain ahead of you which you are to climb.

Evaluate all the possibilities available for you, set targets for yourself and create some determination in your mind as to what you want to achieve.

Be truthful to yourself about how bad and critical the situation at hand might be; this will help you plan towards taking extra classes, getting tutors, etc. Knowing where you stand helps ginger you up to improve. This is the first step on how to build your cgpa.

·BEGIN TO ORGANISE YOURSELF

Being disorganized can make you burn the night candles and come out with zero success. OGA PACKAGE YOURSELF WELL. Organize your notes, your schedules, etc. This enables you to have a better passion to read and study. Imagine having scattered books and disorganized plans; reading will definitely seem repulsive to you. Don’t pile up assignments and projects. You should get things done in due time.

  • BECOME A CLASS PERSON

Skipping classes can be very detrimental. Try your best not to skip classes, no matter how irrelevant you might feel the class is. In class, many lecturers bring out possible exam questions and necessary pointers. They also take note of students attendance which can be little added marks to your overall assessment.

You might as well have been attending class right from time but this time, do it differently. Try to participate in class and class activities; show some extra interest.

This makes the information process better in your brain and increases your understanding of courses. When you skip classes, you miss important announcements, attendance marks, knowledge gotten from asking and answering questions.

·YOUR COURSE ADVISER MIGHT HELP TO IMPROVE YOUR CGPA

As the saying goes, ‘A problem shared is a problem half solved’. Talk to your course advisers because the will be in the best position to give you pointers and tell you how and where to make amendments and how to go about the whole revival process.

They can also give you info on tutorials or materials that can help you out. Meeting your course adviser is very important especially when you have a number of courses you’re expected to retake.

·SMASH CARRYOVER COURSES

This is one of the hardest steps to getting back on track but notwithstanding; consider this as a second chance to repent of your sins lol. Wipeout those F grades and turn them to A and B grades.

Retaking a course can be stressful and annoying at times, especially when you know you put in very much effort and even more annoying when it is your favourite course. But see it as an opportunity to do better; don’t just write it as a “let my people go course” (any grade I get, I’m satisfied) NO! Do it right.

·JOIN A STUDY GROUP OF SMART STUDENTS

Studying in a group is a very effective way of studying. Don’t just study with anybody; study with people with better CGPA than yours. People who will motivate you to work harder and study smarter.

Studying in groups increase your understanding of courses and helps shed more light on things you may not have understood in class and had no time to review. Don’t join a study group filled with noisemakers and unserious people because you will just be jumping from frying pan to fire.

·DROP THE EXTRA LUGGAGE TO IMPROVE YOUR CGPA

Another step to improve your cgpa is to drop unnecessary activities. As my mother used to say, ‘AVOID OVER DO’.  You might have to make some sacrifices and drop down some unnecessary activities. Don’t bombard yourself with activities and at the same time try to catch up with your books. You can reduce those things for a while. Direct more time to your books, resting well, researching, etc.

·STUDY! STUDY!! STUDY!!!

Sacrosanct!!!  Put in some extra effort. Do some weekly reviews by studying whatever has been taught from Monday to Friday in class. With this, you can cover more ground and be more ready for exams at hand.  Set reading schedules and do well to follow them up. You have ti out in the effort to fix your GPA in college.

  • NOT JUST STUDY, SMART STUDY TO INCREASE YOUR CGPA

Through my stay in the university, I have come to realise that all that matters isn’t just studying hard. Studying smart is more important than studying smart. You must learn to study with insights. See the 5 Techniques on How to Study Smartly as a Student

AS I SAID EARLIER ON, I BELIEVE NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. APPLY THESE STEPS JUDICIOUSLY AND WATCH YOUR CGPA IMPROVE AND RISE LIKE OFADA!
